Esteemed Delegates, Honorable Chairs, Dear Advisors, and Distinguished Guests,
It brings me great pleasure to welcome you to MEFHIGHMUN 2026. This year our theme is “Achieving SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in line with the 2030 United Nations Agenda.” With less than four years remaining until the UN’s target year, the urgency of this mission has never been greater. Addressing global poverty, promoting quality education, affirming gender equality, instituting climate action, and ensuring peacebuilding continues to be goals that demand collaborative and creative solutions worldwide. As active shapers and leaders of tomorrow’s world, I, you, we hold both the responsibility and the opportunity to influence how the SDGs transition from vision to reality.
Throughout MEFHIGHMUN 2026, committees will challenge you to overcome pressing issues within this framework: from ensuring inclusive economic growth to protecting our planet for future generations. We encourage you not only to debate policies but also to empathize with the communities and individuals these policies will affect. In doing so, you will represent the core principles of the United Nations: international cooperation built on understanding, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.
As delegates of MEFHIGHMUN 2026, each of you hold the power to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals become more than words on paper. Your role begins with active engagement: listening to diverse perspectives, understanding the complexities of global issues, and advocating for solutions that are both equitable and effective. Turning ambitious visions into meaningful action relies on creativity, collaboration, and determination. By drafting thoughtful resolutions, proposing innovative policies, and inspiring dialogue within and beyond committee rooms, you can turn ideas into measurable impact. Every step we take in debate, negotiation, and cooperation contributes to building a world where progress truly benefits all. In embracing this responsibility, you do not simply participate in a conference, but you also contribute to a global movement that seeks to advance humanity and leave no one behind.
So the questions are, how can we translate promises into significant actions that truly advance humanity? What role can each of us play in ensuring that the SDGs become more than words on paper? These questions are not just for reflection; they are a call to action, urging each delegate to approach debate, negotiation, and collaboration with a purpose.

About Us
MEFHIGHMUN
MEFHIGHMUN’25 is our fifth annual session, which we hope will encourage students to come out of their comfort zones and engage in dialogue with their peers and enable them to have an overall entertaining and educational experience. In MEFHIGHMUN, our main ambition is to achieve a medium in which students can engage in discourse about real international problems, and through communication and collaboration, come up with solutions to these problems.
Our theme this year is 'AI for Inclusive Growth: Navigating Opportunities, Equity, and Ethical Challenges in the Digital Era,.' As artificial intelligence continues to reshape our world, it creates countless opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and progress across societies, economies, and cultures. However, it also introduces a series of challenges, particularly around equity, ethics, and access. This year, our conference seeks to explore the implications of AI on global development, focusing on how we can harness its transformative potential while addressing ethical dilemmas to ensure growth for all.
